The month of Muharram is a prestigious and great month. Its worth is revealed by calling it شهر الله. one should practice the good deeds as much as possible in this month especially one should keep fasts much because Holy Prophet ﷺ said that the fasts of Muharram which is the month of Allah, are most worthy after the fasts of Ramzan. And the most worthy and great namaz after farz is the namaz of night. (Muslim)
Especially one should keep the fast on the day of Ashoora means on the 10th of Muharram. It is narrated from Hazrat Ibne Abbas رضی اللہ عنہ , he says that he never sees the Holy Prophet considered and day better than the other and prepares to keep the fast except the fast of Ashore and the Ramzan.(Bukhari)
It means that He ﷺ never prepare for the fast of any day in such a way that He ﷺ prepares for
The fast of the day of Ashora.
Sins of one year are forgiven
Hazrat Abu Qatadha says that when it is asked from Holy Prophet ﷺ about the fast of Ashora He ﷺ said that it finishes the sons of last one year. (Muslim)
Nawafil and ammal of the first night of Muharram
When moon of Muharram appears then recite two Nawafil in such a way that recite sora Ikhlas 11 times after sora Fatiha and after finishing nawafil recite
Then you will get a lot of Sawab .
One namaz which are written in the practices o Hazrat Khwaja Moin ud Deen chishti Ajmairi is also two nawafil and in these two recite the Sora Yaseen one time after the Sora Fatiha, and in other writings there is mentioned six nawafils and in these recite sora Ikhlas ten times after Fatiha. And the reciter will be given two thousand palaces in paradise by Allah and each palace will have the thousand doors of ruby and there will be a throne of emerald on each door and there will be sitting a Hoor on each throne and except he will be saved from six thousand dangers. Prayer and nawafil of the first day of Muharam
Help through angels in livelihood and earning:
recite on the first day of Muharram, two nawafil and recite three times sora ikhlas after sora Fatiha and after finishing nawafil recite this dua by reciting drood shreef one time before and after it
Allah will appoint two angels to help him in his business. and Satan says that alas I am hopeless of this man for whole year. ( rahat Alqaloob, Jawahir Gaibi)
Safety from every danger for whole life
the one who will keep after writing ﷽ 130 times with him, he can ask others also to write for him. he should keep this after covering it with plastic paper or leather or ragzine Insha’Allah he and his family will be saved from all dangers.( Shams ul Muaarif Mutatjim 83: )
there are ten deeds to do on the day of Ashoora which are a source of the closeness of Allah 1. keeping fast.2 offering nafal namaz 3. placing the hand on Orphan's head 4. Make Toba( going to graveyard) 5. Taking Bath 6. Using Surma 7. Going to consol the ill 8. Giving water to thirsty 9. giving alms and charity. 10. Widening the eating menu. (Gania tul Talibeen)
Nafal prayer on the day of Ashora
As the day of Ashora is for us is very respectable and worthy so it deserves that we should spend it respectfully and we should spend it in Qayam and sajjud as much as we can. Hazrat Kwaja moan ud Deen chishti says while discussing the practices of Muharram ul Harram that if someone recite six nawafil on the first night of Muharram I. such easy that he must recite 10 times sora Ikhlas after sora Fatiha then he will get a lot of sawab.( Fazail e Ayam e Ashahood)
four raktas on the day of Ashoora in such way that recite 50 times sora Ikhlas after one time sora Fatiha then Allah will forgive the sins of 50 years of past and future. and Allah will build for him one thousands palaces of Noor in paradise. the one who recites 4 rakat on the day of Ashoora in a way that he recites 11 times sora Ikhlas after Fatiha then he after this he recites this due countless then his 50 years of sins of past and future will be forgiven and 1000 Sitting places will of Noor will he prepared for him. (Fazail e Ayam e Ashahood) on the night of Ashoora are offered for the light of Grave. if you recite 3 times sora Ikhlas in each rakat then grave will be lighted by Allah until the judgment day.
